As The Rain Fell (Poem)

As the rain fell, she stepped outside
Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide
Numb from the pain, broken by lies
A smile no longer could disguise
The river of tears she had cried

No matter how hard she had tried
Those feelings never would subside
Now was the time to cut all ties
As the rain fell

In nature she chose to confide
That all was lost, no hope, no pride
And as life drained from tired eyes
Smiled one last smile, bid her goodbyes
Embraced her fate, in silence died
As the rain fell
